Liberation publishes a full double-page spread on HMKV's exhibitions

In its edition on (the elections in) Germany the French daily newspaper Libération publishes, on 20 September, a full double-page spread on HMKV's exhibitions in the context of the New Industries Festival - entitled "Dortmund l’ouvrière fait sa renaissance" (pp. 20-21). Nous sommes ravis!

New Industries Festival opened on the weekend

The New Industries Festival opened on Friday, 13 September - with the exhibitions INDUSTRIAL (Research) (6th floor), Requiem for a Bank (3rd floor) and Axel Braun: To the benefit of a society of tomorrow for which we build today (Ebene 3). The aftershow party at sissikingkong was an exquisite extravaganza!

On June 13, 2013, the French daily newspaper Libération published a full two-page article by Marie Lechner about our current show His Master's Voice: On Voice and Language: "Dortmund, voix royale". Read it online!

German section of AICA awards HMKV at the 55th Venice Biennial 2013

On May 30, 2013, at 4 pm, HMKV will be awarded the "Exceptional Exhibition 2012" prize by the German section of the International Art Critics' Association (AICA) at Palazzo Rossini in Venice. AICA's Executive Committee awards the prize to the exhibition "Sounds Like Silence" (2012-2013) curated by Inke Arns and Dieter Daniels.

Honorable Mention of HMKV in the context of the ADKV-ART COLOGNE Prize for Kunstvereine 2013

Out of 17 nominations Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) will be awarded this year's ADKV-ART COLOGNE Prize for Kunstvereine. Additionally, the jury awarded an Honorable Mention to Hartware MedienKunstVerein in Dortmund. The Prize ceremony will take place on Monday, April 22nd, 2013, at 4 pm, at Art Cologne.

The 19 Most Beautiful Swiss Books of 2012

Now it is official: Our book Sounds Like Silence (Leipzig: Spector Books), designed by Jacob Kirch and Pascal Storz, belongs to the «Most Beautiful Swiss Books of 2012». 454 books were submitted for this prestigious award, 19 were selected. Let's celebrate!

INDUSTRIAL on Tour published as a pocket book

Finally, here it is, and it turns out to be really beautiful: Our book documenting the project INDUSTRIAL on Tour, complete with travel reports, interviews and pictures taken during our trip through five (post-)industrial cities in Poland in late 2011. Make sure to get a copy!

HMKV nominated for ADKV-ART COLOGNE Prize for Kunstvereine 2013

For the fourth time, Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) is running for the ADKV-ART COLOGNE Prize for Kunstvereine. HMKV had been nominated previously in 2007, 2008 and 2011. With this Prize which will be awarded during this year's Art Cologne Art Fair, ADKV and AT COLOGNE wish to award innovative exhibition practice and engaged mediation.

Unique in Germany: Expanded Cinema Study Collection

In 2004 and 2006 HMKV Dortmund and WKV Stuttgart presented, in two comprehensive exhibitions, central works from the field of Expanded Cinema. Recordings of more than 70 live performances, film environments and multi-channel projections are available for viewing at HMKV and WKV. Sounds Like Silence book published by Spector Books
