Short guided tours
We invite you to short guided tours of the World of Matter exhibition every full hour.

Meeting point: Level 3, duration: approx. 30 minutes, last tour 17:00

Guided tour for children
Every hour from 12:30, we invite children aged between 5 and 12 to take an exciting tour of the World of Matter exhibition. Embark on a journey around the world and find out where the rice on our plates, the cotton in our clothes or the oil in our heating system comes from.

Modelling balloon figures from YouTube
Who doesn't know them: the clowns who make funny little animals out of balloons in the circus or at the funfair. As if by magic. We say: You can do it too! What do you need? Balloons, the internet and fun trying things out. At the summer festival, you can model simple and complicated figures out of balloons. Come along and try it out! The event will take place on the forecourt of the Dortmunder U.

Excavators, winding towers, combine harvesters
Excavators, winding towers, combine harvesters. Big machines are digging up our earth. What would you do if you were standing opposite one of these huge machines? Create short, funny comics. Anything is possible with the help of photomontage. The best comic will win a little surprise. All visitors to the Dortmunder U can vote.

Participation is possible at any time. The event takes place on the forecourt of the Dortmunder U.

Would you like to explore our exhibitions on your own? Our children's rally is ready for you at the entrance to our exhibitions! Go on a journey around the world and find out how the rice on our plates, the metals in our mobile phones or the crude oil in our heating system are extracted. Available at the information desk in the exhibition at any time!
