Silke Schönfeld: You Can‘t Make This Up

| 2024 | 10,00 € / 18,00 €

Silke Schönfeld’s (b. 1988) filmic miseenscènes are political reflections that often take place in unexpected spatial and temporal contexts, seamlessly moving between documentary and fiction. In her films the personal stories of the protagonists are always interwoven with historical and social structures. You Can’t Make This Up comprises five largeformat video installations: Ein Prozent – Imagined Communities (2019), Nothing in This World Can Take The Place of Persistence (2022), I may always ask her anything (2023), No More Butter Scenes (2024) and The impossibility of showing what should never have happened (2024). With essays by Inke Arns and Florian Wüst as well as an interview with Silke Schönfeld by Agustina Andreoletti, notes on the works by Eva Scharrer, Daniel Huhn, Merle Radtke, Luisa Rittershaus, and extensive photographic documentation of the exhibition at HMKV Hartware MedienKunstVerein.
