Sonic Lecture with Dash: The future ist female

The second edition of the Sonic Lecture series with Dash a.k.a. Steffen Korthals is about the female perspective in club culture. His talk guest, Rosa D'Addetta, the Dortmund DJ icon, introduces female artists who decisively shape (and have shaped) this culture.

Gender diversity is clearly also a big issue in club culture. Women are often underrepresented in clubs and in the media, are paid less and are usually viewed more critically than their male colleagues, yet many of them have made much of club culture possible in the first place. It's high time to dedicate ourselves to this topic, to highlight pioneers and current female artists and, in the best case scenario, to inspire future generations.

Rosa D'Addetta from Dortmund (Cosmotopia, Großmarktschänke, Funktronix, eldoradio*, Dojo) has been a DJ, radio presenter and performer for over 20 years. She has been a successful member of the first all-female DJ collective and has helped shape the local club scene.

It's DJ time! Rosa will present her ten favorite female producers of current club music, Dash also has (favorite) records produced by women in her luggage and of course the professionals will talk about them in detail and share their professional background knowledge with the audience.

Watch and listen, because the female future is exciting, fresh, fun and has long been present.

This event is part of the programme of the cooperation project „Club, Kunst & Kultur“ by the HMKV Hartware MedienKunstVerein and the UZWEI at the Dortmunder U with the exhibitions Can’t Get You Out of My Head in seven Dortmund clubs and hello again at the UZWEI at the Dortmunder U.
